The Design
The design of the hotel is a combination of West Lake’s tranquility, the authenticity of Vietnam with the modernity of Western architecture. Adjacent to the 800-year-old Golden Lotus pagoda (Kim Lien pagoda), InterContinental Hanoi West Lake blends calmly and beautifully into the mystical ambience of West Lake.
With respect to the local’s cultural heritage, traditional Vietnamese elements merge with contemporary design and impress us with the luxurious of the place.
Other impressions
The Club InterContinental is an exclusive space for guests who book the Club rooms. With a spectacular view over the lake, this is where you can relax, eat or work in a private ambience of luxury. The Club is perfect for socializing, or an intimate meeting with your business partners. Aside the exceptional services and meals, the lounge offers ideal business meeting and living rooms.
The interior is done with a soothing color of cream walls, dark wood. A touch of traditional décor reminds us of a nostalgic Hanoian beauty. Simple, gentle but also luxurious and elegant, that is the very unique soul of ‘West Lake architecture.’
The colors used for many of the interior details also take inspiration from the colors of sunset. Strolling around the hotel, it’s easy to come across many Vietnamese art works and paintings, remind us a of a peaceful, artistic art space that can be found in many parts of Hanoi.
The Diplomatic Lounge
This is probably my favorite lounge in the hotel, I like to spend time here. This modern, creative looking space overlooking the hotels’ swimming pool is a perfect place to chill out, have fun and enjoy the good times with your friends. And just like its name, the Diplomatic Lounge does feel very ‘diplomatic’ (which is one of the reasons why I like this place). The room is filled with photographs of Head of State, Politicians and Diplomats from Vietnam and many other countries. With such an ‘diplomatic’ ambience, the design surely makes the lounge an ideal place for a quality discussion over some tea and coffee.
